Our clients Waste Services is at the heart of our Environment Directorate, delivering one of the largest waste and recycling collection services in the country. This is a highly valued public service that directly impacts our residents and shapes the clients reputation. It’s a challenging and rewarding area that demands innovative thinking, strong leadership and a commitment to sustainability.
We're looking for an experienced Waste Treatment and Disposal Manager to take charge of a vital role. In this role, you’ll oversee our waste treatment and disposal functions, managing significant contracts. Your expertise will guide critical decisions as you act as the council’s lead representative on contracts, ensuring everything runs smoothly, meets legal requirements and delivers value for money. You’ll also drive service transformation projects to align with new legislation, like the Environment Act 2021, and explore innovative solutions for Wiltshire’s waste management future.
We’re looking for someone with substantial experience in waste management, ideally backed by a relevant degree and professional qualifications. You’ll need excellent people skills, a sharp mind for data and contracts, and a genuine passion for tackling environmental challenges.
Rate of Pay
PAYE: £359
Umbrella: £450
