Warehouse Supervisor

We have an exciting position at our Merseyside Depot for a Warehouse Supervisor, with the successful person joining us during a big period of change for the depot. We are currently based at our depot in Widnes (WA8 8UA) but will relocate soon to our newly built premises on Knowsley Lane (L36 8HL).

Main Duties

1. Be responsible for managing the day to day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all delivery requirements for the depot are successfully met.
2. The supervisor is required to monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods, whilst being responsible for the line management of the staff within the distribution team including warehouse staff and transportation staff.

Key Skills

1. Ensuring that the warehouse as a whole runs as efficiently and effectively as possible.
2. Processing all answer phone, internet and online orders.
3. Updating Route Sheets as required.
4. Security checks on open/shut down of operation.
5. To analyse data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
6. Co-ordinating and controlling the order cycle and associated information systems.
7. Ensuring that products are dealt with efficiently in the warehouse and are successfully delivered to customers.
8. To control and implement a date checking system and out of date stock controls.
9. To ensure that the Warehouse and its housekeeping are maintained to a high standard.
10. To ensure that stock is stored within health and safety guidelines.
11. To ensure that the Warehouse Bin/Bay locations are kept up to date.
12. To ensure all processes are followed and adhered to with regards to loading/unloading, including checking of all loads, shrink wrapping and load security.
13. Ensuring adequate staff levels to cover for absences and peaks in workload.
14. Delegating work to staff and managing their workload and output.
15. Effectively cover the role of Warehouse & Distribution Manager in their absence.

Knowledge And Experience

1. Use of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets and records.
2. Good teamwork skills.
3. Good management & communication skills.
4. Good product knowledge and warehousing policies and procedures.
5. Full use of Trinity system and CyberQuery software.
