Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Oldham
Rate of Pay: GBP17.00 per hour
Hours of Work: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Temp to Perm

Introduction:
We are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our esteemed manufacturing client in Oldham on a temp-to-perm basis. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring smooth execution of tasks such as team coordination, order picking, and managing inbound and outbound shipments. The role also includes overseeing warehouse organization, housekeeping, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

In-date FLT Counterbalance license (RTITB/ITSSAR) is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate a small team (6-8 staff members) to maximize warehouse productivity and efficiency.
• Oversee the induction, training, and cross-training of warehouse staff to ensure coverage in the event of absence.
• Maintain a focus on accuracy and concentration, minimizing errors and customer complaints.
• Manage inbound shipments, including parcels, LTL (Less than Truckload), and full truck/container deliveries.
• Effectively manage the goods-in procedure to ensure smooth processing.
• Supervise outbound shipments, ensuring timely dispatch and zero overdue orders.
• Plan space utilization within the warehouse to maintain tidy and efficient areas.
• Oversee equipment needs and maintain records of warehouse equipment.
• Perform general warehouse duties, including order picking and packing.
• Operate counterbalance and articulated forklifts (approximately 70% of the role).
• Propose and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve warehouse operations.
• Uphold a safe working environment and ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies.
• Communicate daily inventory reports to management and assist with inventory monitoring and adjustments.
• Take on additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, with a strong track record in warehouse operations.
• In-date FLT Counterbalance license (RTITB/ITSSAR) is essential for this role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing warehouse teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of warehouse management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to improving operations.
• A focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
