Job Description:

A metal stockholding business based near Bedford are currently looking for an experienced Warehouse Stock Controller to join their busy team in a permanent position.

The successful candidate will perform a key role in carrying out efficient warehouse operations and ensuring effective stock management is maintained.

Warehouse Stock Controller responsibilities:

• Booking in Goods: Responsible for the accurate systematic booking in and recording of incoming goods using computer system
• Forklift Counterbalance Operation: Safely operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck efficiently moving and organising materials within racking system
• Stock Control: Monitoring and managing stock levels, ensuring that all inventory is readily available and accurately accounted for as required
• Delivery driving: Carrying out occasional deliveries to customer sites using company flat-bed van
• Materials processing: Using a tape to accurately measure metal stock and cut to required length using the bandsaw (training provided)
• Making wooden packaging crates and pallets: Using nail guns, saws and screwdrivers etc. to make basic crates and pallets to load customer orders onto / into

Experience required:

• Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment within a manufacturing / processing environment is preferred but not essential
• Familiarity with using a computerised stock control system is advantageous
• A valid (or recently expired) Counterbalance Forklift licence along with the experience of operating a Forklift confidently and safely is required
• Full (manual) UK Driving Licence is needed
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills are requested
