ASL Technical are working with a key, Surrey based client who specialise in the design and manufacture of road cleansing equipment for the global market place. We have a current open requirement for Warehouse Operatives on a permanent basis to work at their Dorking facility.
The role of Warehouse Operative is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, facilitating smooth warehouse operations through tasks including goods receipt, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping. The role requires upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety within the warehouse.
Description of Duties
The Warehouse Operative will perform tasks under the supervision and guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor or a higher-graded worker. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Materials Handling
- Follow oral and written instructions to ensure efficient workflow.
- Move, arrange, and rotate stock weighing up to 25 kg manually.
- Use hand trucks, trolleys, platform lifts, and other mechanical and electric lift equipment for heavier loads.
- Operate Reach and Counterbalance forklifts if trained and authorized.
- Utilise automated material identification tools such as barcode scanners and computer terminals.
- Handle common tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, and safety knives.
- Receive, store, pick, and pack various materials and equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Warehouse Operations Knowledge: Basic understanding of warehouse layout, item identification, and standard procedures for efficient stock handling.
- Inventory Accuracy: Ability to accurately record stock details, including description, quantity, unit of measure, and labelling.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills with the ability to learn warehouse software and operate barcode scanners and other related equipment.
- Manual Dexterity: Skilled in using manual and mechanical tools to handle warehouse tasks safely.
- Quality Control: Ability to identify visible damage to materials and equipment.
Performance and Key Result Areas
- All received goods to be booked on SAP by the end of the shift.
- Daily status reports prepared and shared with the team.
- All received goods processed within two days of receipt.
- Customer returns processed within 24 hours.
- Orders dispatched on the requested day for UK and export orders.
- Maintain a stock accuracy rate of 99%.
- Manage customer complaints effectively and according to company standards.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines.
