Due to continued growth Clarendon Fine Art is looking for a Despatch Operative (Warehouse Operative) to work in our fast-paced Despatch department within our Operations Centre in Lichfield. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy the practical side and have been involved in Despatch, Goods Out or Warehouse industries.

You will be working in our Operations Centre in Lichfield, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (8am - 4:30pm / 9am - 5:30pm).

Key Responsibilities:

• Packing and despatching of international shipments, including crates for our cruise ships, ensuring items are packed for safe transport and booked onto the carrier shipping systems.
• Any relevant paperwork is included and all items are labelled correctly such as manifests and delivery notes.
• Carry out the manifesting scanning process, ensuring all items planned for loading, are systemically scanned onto vans so that the correct delivery and collection paperwork is produced.
• Communicate any problems promptly and accurately, to the correct people so that any issues can be rectified quickly.
• Ensure that all items are collated in clearly defined van route order, to enable the loading team to effectively load vehicles.

Skills and Abilities:

• Previous experience in despatch, logistics, or a similar role; experience in fine art handling is highly desirable.
• Competent with IT systems.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle delicate and high value items with care.
• Confidence to highlight potential issues to other departments.
• Willingness to learn and progress.
• Experience using hand scanners for inventory management and tracking.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Physical capability to handle and move heavy artwork safely, adhering to company standards.
