Job description

Location: South Marston Industrial Estate

Salary: £12.00 per hour / £25,185 per year

Working Days / Hours: 4 on / 4 off (includes weekends on a rota basis) from 6:00am to 6:00pm

Contract: Permanent

About the role:

We are excited to announce that we are expanding our team and looking for individuals to join us as permanent Warehouse Operatives at our Big Blue location in Swindon.

As a Warehouse Operative, you'll be responsible for ensuring that our customers' laundry needs are met to the highest standards. You'll work alongside a team of dedicated professionals, helping to run our state-of-the-art laundry facility and ensuring that all laundry is processed and packed efficiently and effectively. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable experience in the commercial laundry industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operating and maintaining the laundry equipment, reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management as needed
  2. Sorting and loading laundry, removing stains on fabrics as needed
  3. Inspecting the quality of laundered garments, including checking for cleanliness, stains, and damages
  4. Maintaining a clean and organised work area and 5S standards
  5. Working alongside our Shift Managers, Supervisors and Delivery Drivers, and performing other duties assigned by management
  6. Recording data consistently and thoroughly in your work
  7. Following safety protocols and adhering to company policies and procedures as required
  8. Maintaining sustainability at every corner and upholding our values of Excellence, Integrity and Creativity
Key Relationships:
  1. Operations Manager & Shift Manager - You will report to the Shift Manager on shift. They will be your first port of call for most things, from how we process certain items to how we dose our machines and track a customer's order
  2. Delivery Drivers - You may liaise with our logistics team about customer orders and deliveries

Essential:

  2. Enthusiasm to learn: We use technology every step of the way. While we don't expect you to be an expert in the software we use from day 1 (e.g., Slack, Notion, etc.), it is essential you are willing and able to learn and use new skills
  3. Organisation and Attention to Detail: Excellence is central to what we do, and it is how we provide the best results for our customers
  4. Communication: Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as you will need to work closely with your team, management, and logistics teams. Effective communication helps to fulfil customer orders properly, flag equipment malfunctions, and keep shift management informed about laundry processing
Desirable:
  1. Previous experience in warehouse operations;
  2. Previous laundry, dry cleaning, or commercial cleaning experience
We will provide the training you need to be successful in your role.

Paid trial shift and interview with one of our Shift Managers or our Operations Manager in Swindon (2-3 hours)
