POSITION: Warehouse Operative
LOCATION: Glasgow, Scotland
HOURS: 40 hours per week across 5 day shifts. Mon-Fri

The Role
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Warehouse Operative to join a leading UK Haulage & Distribution company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including picking, packing, labelling, and loading pallets. A key part of this role will also involve operating forklift pallet trucks, so previous experience is highly desirable. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently.
You must possess a valid FLT licence or be prepared to complete approved forklift training.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking and Packing: Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves and pack orders according to customer requirements.
- Labelling: Ensure that all products are correctly labeled with the appropriate information.
- Lifting and Moving Pallets: Safely handle and follow health and safety guidelines to minimise risk.
- Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift pallet truck to transport large items and stock around the warehouse.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and meet team targets.
- Independent Work: Work independently to meet individual daily goals while maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.
- Stock Management: Assist with inventory control and stock rotation to ensure efficient stock management.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all company policies and legal regulations regarding health and safety, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous Warehouse Experience: Experience in a similar role is advantageous, but not essential.
- Forklift License (desirable): A valid forklift license and prior experience in forklift operation is preferred.
- Physical Strength: Ability to safely lift and move heavy crates (up to 28kg) as part of your daily tasks.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in picking, packing, and labelling orders.
- Team Player: Strong ability to work as part of a team while also being able to work independently.
- Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and adherence to health and safety standards in the warehouse environment.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills to report issues and collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic with excellent punctuality and attendance record.
