Warehouse First Line Manager 6mth FTC Sun to Thurs

GXO is currently seeking a driven and talented individual for the role of Warehouse First Line Manager to join our Nespresso contract, based at our flagship site at East Midlands Gateway. You’ll be responsible for driving efficient operational performance on your shift while maintaining strong communications with the on-site senior management team.

This position is being offered on a 6-month, fixed term contract basis. You’ll be working on a Sunday to Thursday shift pattern, and your hours of work will rotate weekly between 06:00 – 14:00 and 14:00 – 22:00. However, you will need to be flexible on occasion – this is logistics, after all!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Plan, co-ordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of your team, providing effective communication, leadership, succession planning, motivation, training and development.
• Facilitate communication through regular briefings, shift updates and continuous feedback to colleagues.
• Support the operations managers in achieving the warehouse operational KPIs and service levels and drive improvement initiatives across the site.
• Ensure that the company’s health and safety policies and obligations are adhered to, and that the operation meets all legislative requirements at all times.

• Proven experience of leading an operational team in a fast-paced warehouse.
• The ability to effectively lead, coach and develop your team.
• Excellent communication skills, engaging your team, with a focus on maintaining on-site engagement.
• Analytical and logical approach to problem solving to support change management and continuous improvement on site.
