Job description

Warehouse Assistant & Delivery Driver

Location: Dartford plus national travel

Salary: Competitive

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

About the Role

We are seeking a Driver / Store Person to support our geotechnical and groundwork operations by managing logistics, transport, and inventory control. This role ensures our teams have the right tools, machinery, and materials on-site efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Transport & Delivery: Drive company vehicles (vans, trucks, flatbeds) to deliver equipment and materials, ensuring timely and safe transport.
  2. Stock & Warehouse Management: Maintain inventory records, conduct regular checks, and store tools and materials securely.
  3. Equipment Handling & Maintenance: Operate forklifts, conduct basic tool maintenance, and coordinate site mobilisation.
  4. Health, Safety & Compliance: Follow all HSE policies, conduct vehicle inspections, and adhere to transport regulations.
  5. Site Support: Work closely with site teams, arrange urgent deliveries, and assist with unloading heavy equipment.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Valid UK driving licence (Category B; Category C preferred).
  • Experience in logistics, stores, or driving within construction, geotechnical, or groundwork sectors.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to handle heavy equipment safely.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for minor tool maintenance.

Desirable:

  • Forklift licence (Counterbalance/Reach).
  • Street Works qualification (NRSWA).
  • CSCS card, First Aid, or Fire Marshal training.
