Warehouse Assistant - 6-month contract – Portlethen, Aberdeenshire


As Warehouse Assistant, your job role will encompass the receipt, issuance, location, picking, and dispatch of all commodities within the warehouse function, ensuring that all transactions are executed through our Warehouse Management System. This role will require the use of mechanical handling equipment and hand tools while following processes and procedures with an emphasis on continual improvement.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Packing all 3rd party and intercompany shipments being distributed from the facility.
  2. Assisting with general warehouse tasks as requested in other sections within the warehouse.
  3. Physically checking, counting, and packing materials.
  4. Operating various storage and transport equipment, i.e., overhead crane.
  5. Safe loading and unloading of trucks for shipments that arrive/depart the facility.
  6. Complying with all company HS&E (Health & Safety) and warehouse procedural requirements.
  7. Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.
  8. Participating in the Observation Reporting System to identify potential hazards within the workplace.
  9. Participating in on-call rota as required.
  10. Carrying out a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required and in line with operational requirements.
  11. Supporting the Warehouse Manager or supervisors in performing other duties as and when required.

Qualifications

Desirable:

  1. Use of ERP Systems.
  2. Previous experience within a warehouse environment.
