As the Ward Receptionist you will often be the first point of contact for the patients and visitors when entering the ward so a friendly, welcoming smile and excellent communication skills are essential.
As a caring and positive person you will need to be able to work as part of an established team, have the ability to work flexibly and be committed to ensuring the smooth running of reception.
We are looking for an individual who is self motivated, content with working in a busy environment and who has good time management skills. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. It is essential that you act professionally at all times, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise your own work load.
The post holder will be required to provide a professional, efficient and comprehensive reception service within Ward E37 and the Children's Assessment Unit at QMC. Fulfilling all necessary reception, clerical, administrative and general tasks required to facilitate and record patient treatment using paper based health records and information technology systems. Staff are expected to be courteous and considerate at all times and have excellent customer care skills.
After appropriate training the post holder will be required to utilise the hospital Medway PAS computer system to capture and update necessary data, and to use the case note tracing system to accurately record the movement of paper base health records.
The role requires close liaison with other disciplines and the provision of a courteous, reliable and quality consumer service to patients, relatives and carers, health professional, internal departments and outside organisations.
