Ward Manager (RMN/RNLD) - Eating Disorders

Job Summary

We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Manager (RMN / RNLD) who can lead, inspire & oversee the delivery of the very best care. You'll be working 40 hours a week (Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm) at Cygnet Hospital Ealing. We are offering a £3000 welcome bonus for the successful candidate and can also support with a relocation package. Sunrise Ward works closely with the NHS and is accredited by the Quality Network Eating Disorders (QED). We are looking for a compassionate leader who thrives on working with innovation and best practice. A qualified nurse with experience of supervising a team and who seeks to specialise or enhance their specialist skills, working in an eating disorder service. We are particularly interested in nurses who work in a trauma informed way, and understand the adaptations needed to support a person with autism. The Sunrise ward manager role is supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team and at Cygnet we pride ourselves in supporting our staff to achieve and grow.

Main Duties of the Job

Cygnet Hospital Ealing provides a welcoming, non-institutional environment, offering personalised treatment for service users with an eating disorder or personality disorder over two separate wards. Services are delivered in a purpose-built therapeutic environment where the focus is on maximising positive outcomes and recovery. A range of therapies supports the care pathway towards independent living. The hospital is close to transport links and with ready access to the local community.

Your Day-to-Day

• Provide the highest standard of nursing care & be a role model to junior staff
• Co-ordinate all clinical aspects of the ward & ensure co-operation between clinical departments
• Implement clinical & administrative policies, procedures & regulations
• Ensure compliance by others of policies, procedures & regulations
• Support staff through debriefs, appraisals, training, meetings & development of evidence/research-based practice
• Participate in unit coordinator rota system to provide the first point of contact for ward-based staff.
• Lead by example to ensure consistently high standards of clinical care & documentation

You Are

• A qualified RMN / RNLD with a valid NMC pin number
• Committed to delivering improvement strategies across all aspects of clinical service provision
• Familiar with an inpatient setting
• Experienced in managing change, leadership initiatives, motivating & developing others
• Experienced working with service users with eating disorders or in a mental health setting
• Open, compassionate, honest & resilient
• Capable of undertaking audits, developing, following-up & ensuring completion of action plans
• Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 & the latest nursing practices
• Focused on patient recovery to monitor, manage & reduce risk
