About The Role

DP World Europe is on a mission to become the leading end-to-end logistics solutions provider, and we need a visionary leader to drive our Growth Program. As the Program Strategy & Commercial Lead, you'll play a crucial role in transforming our operations and achieving our ambitious goals.

In this dynamic role, you'll oversee the strategic direction and execution of the Program, ensuring we maximise value from our assets, expand our geographical and industry reach, enhance our end-to-end value proposition, and lead in sustainability. You'll collaborate closely with senior executives, including the CEO, MD, and VP Transformation, as well as a diverse team of commercial leaders and external consultants.

Your leadership will be essential in delivering significant financial and commercial impacts year over year until 2028 and beyond. You'll also be responsible for building the internal capability and capacity needed to sustain our growth trajectory. This includes assessing and executing requirements to ensure DP World Europe continues its upward momentum.

NOTE: This role can be based anywhere in Europe. Travel: Requirement to travel 25% - 50% of the time.

How Will You Contribute

  1. Responsible for the successful execution of the Strategy and Commercial delivery of the overall growth program in DP World Europe, in line with the Global Vision and Regional Strategy.
  2. Set and ensure strategic direction is in line with both DP World Global and Europe ambitions/expectations – Existing and New Projects.
  3. Drive the Commercial delivery by ensuring the needs of the customer are understood, the correct Commercial models are in place and the correct ambition level is set.
  4. Challenge proposed initiatives and projects to ensure that they are aligned with strategy, articulate DP World’s Value Proposition, USP and Right to Win, as well as having aggressive yet realistic financial impacts.
  5. Hold fellow Senior Executives and Senior Leaders accountable to deliver the required financial impact as committed during project approvals.
  6. Work with and guide respective Leaders to mitigate potential Commercial risks as soon as possible.
  7. Provide steering, insights, experience from global, industry, customers and competition.
  8. Optimise the value add of external consultants.
  9. Assess, Define and Build the Strategy/Design Engine by EOY 2025.
  10. Build and manage critical stakeholder relationships which should be coordinated, managed, and aligned on an ongoing basis – primarily in region and periodically outside the region with the pillar and head office.
  11. Maintain liaison with key and supporting functions across the organisation, such as Operations, Finance, Communications, Marketing to ensure alignment of program activities across Europe.
  12. Monitor commercial program vs resource requirements to proactively manage potential resource constraints in delivery of the Commercial component of the Program.

What You Will Bring

  1. A bachelor’s degree in business, Commercial, Finance or related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Master's degree in a relevant discipline is desirable.
  2. Minimum of 15 – 20 years’ experience in Executive and Senior Commercial and Financial Management with a proven track record of delivering results in similar Strategy Execution Programs within large organisations.
  3. Strong leadership skills, culturally and emotionally intelligent with experience of managing stakeholders across different levels and countries. Job requires initiative willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
  4. Work as a key advisor to the CEO & MD Europe, a key counterpart to the CFO Europe and sparring partner with VP Transformation.
  5. Work with, either Directly or Indirectly, Executive Sponsors or Team Captains who are required to progress Commercial Initiatives for Project Approval; and/or Team Captains/Project Managers who are responsible for the subsequent Commercial Project implementation/delivery.
  6. Strong communication skills - You are an exceptional listener and communicate clearly. You write exceptionally well, and you speak eloquently at any level. You are also tactful when delivering the facts.
  7. Stress Tolerance — role requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situation as well as an ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
