Job Overview

The Vice President and General Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership, technology vision, and operations execution for a business that is over $350M in revenue. The new VPGM will oversee a global business, operating in the United States, Europe, and Asia. The executive must understand the industry, the technology, the applications, and the operations. The executive will develop a growth roadmap that is aligned with corporate strategy. He/she will also be responsible for driving the implementation of the strategy and assuring annual results. The VPGM will be tasked with enabling internal collaboration, external partnerships, and acquisitions. This executive will also have a business and strategic mindset to collaborate with other members of the senior management team to drive greater shareholder value. Preferred physical location to be in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Alternatively, must at least be onsite in Portsmouth 1-2 full weeks per month. Amount of needed travel influenced by physical location, likely travel to average 50% of the time; periods of high travel may occur.

What will help you thrive in this role?
  • 10+ Years' of Commercial and Manufacturing Leadership Experience
  • A minimum of ten years of successful commercial experience in a senior position, including P&L responsibility and working in matrixed environments.
  • Power utilities experience is ideal, but not required.
  • Strong commercial and operational acumen
  • The candidate must possess the ability to work through supply chain, distribution channels, and independent salespersons, thrive in a cross-functional matrixed structure, as well as demonstrate excellent marketing knowledge and be able to constantly engage with operations.
  • Proven team leadership with a high level of collaboration
  • The desired executive is a leader with proven skills of collaboration that assure common goal outcomes across many functional disciplines.
  • A degree in Civil, Electric or Mechanical Engineering, complemented with a Master´s degree or an MBA.
