The VP Audit - Digital provides leadership in influencing the management of bp's significant digital/information technology risks. The role involves overseeing the development and delivery of a portfolio of digital audits, managing senior stakeholder relationships, inspiring Internal Audit staff, and building audit and risk management capability.
IA's vision is to enable bp's energy reset strategy through its objective insights and advice. We are a global and diverse team of ~120 people engaged in auditing and supporting bp's businesses across the globe to efficiently and effectively manage risk.

Key Accountabilities
As a VP Audit, you will:
- Deliver a global portfolio of audits across several business areas including:
- Maintaining subject matter expertise and a strategic perspective on relevant risks to bp, including risk trends, industry developments, and the evolution of bp's business activities.
- Developing the annual audit programme for those business areas, using judgement to focus and prioritise the programme whilst ensuring appropriate risk coverage.
- Coaching and supporting audit managers and leads in the planning and execution of focused, cost-effective impactful audits and insightful audit reports as well as rigorous closure of audit actions.
- Maintain relationships with relevant senior stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the relevant business areas to support efficient and effective execution of audit work.
- Understanding of the dynamic business environment.
- Attraction of talented staff, guest and business auditors, and out-placement of audit staff into the business.
- Leverage networks to communicate audit insights to influence improvement in risk management across bp.
- Lead and line manage audit staff, including:
- Active role in IA's leadership team, influencing important decisions, prioritizing effort and resources; and driving transformation and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop audit managers and other staff, delegating appropriately to empower and build capability, identifying growth opportunities for staff within and outside IA.
- Demonstrate curiosity and continuous learning, championing improvement and adoption of digital and agile approaches.
- Role model bp's values & behaviours including a strong focus on safety management, diversity, inclusion and equity.
- Exemplify conformance with bp requirements and processes.
Essential Education- Educated to degree level or IT certification or possessing exceptional information technology industry knowledge.
Essential Experience- Broad experience in auditing, managing or operating information technology - cyber security, development and deployment of digital products, platforms and services, maintenance of critical business systems, IT project management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence senior leaders with sound business judgement, technical credibility and focus.
- Significant people leadership experience and a track record for motivating diverse, impactful teams and building capability.
- Track record of driving process and controls improvement or change projects with a commitment to continuous learning and personal development.

Desirable Criteria- Audit technical skills, given the reliance placed by bp management on Internal Audit work and the potential for external disclosure of audit results. Where necessary, in-house training will be provided.
