Volunteer Trustee (Christian) | ARISE COUNSELLING SERVICE

Arise Counselling Service is a small Christian charity which aims to provide affordable counselling in our local area. We seek new Trustees to join our team.

What difference will you make?

As a Trustee, you will be jointly responsible for setting the overall direction of the charity, ensuring that the charity operates in accordance with its statutory duties and delivers its goals, in line with its vision and values. We expect our Trustees to:

1. Contribute to discussions and direct the team on issues within their area of expertise.
2. Attend the two-hour quarterly meetings 4 times a year.
3. Follow up on actions from Board meetings.
4. Liaise on various issues between meetings.
5. Attend training.
6. Review Board papers.
7. Liaise with the Counselling Manager on operational issues as necessary.

(This role does not require client contact.)

What are we looking for?

Experience in the Christian/community/voluntary sector, Development & Planning, Book-keeping / accountancy skills, and Human Resources.

What will you be doing?

We seek skilled and committed individuals, who are enthusiastic about the vision and values of Arise, to join our developing Board. Individuals with the following skills and experience would be welcomed:

1. Charity Leadership
2. Charity Governance
3. Finance (Treasurer)
4. Human Resources
5. Counselling Experience
