Volunteer Driver Coordinator

Salary: £23,634 per annum - £15,756 pro rata

Hours: 25 hours per week (office-based role) over 5 days

Location: North Leeds - LS17

Role Summary

The Volunteer Driver Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteer drivers to ensure the efficient and safe transportation of service users. The role involves working with service users to identify their transport needs, scheduling journeys, maintaining records, and fostering a supportive environment for volunteers.

Key responsibilities

  • You will recruit, train and manage volunteer drivers.
  • You will coordinate driver schedules and assign transportation requests.
  • You will ensure all volunteers comply with safeguarding, health & safety, and insurance policies.
  • You will monitor and assess volunteer performance, providing ongoing support and recognition.

Requirements

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers.
  • Patient and can-do attitude.
  • Ability to manage schedules efficiently and problem-solve on the go.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A valid UK driver's license and ability to drive LJWB vehicles safely.
