Location: 5 days onsite in Basingstoke

The Opportunity:

For the UK Government, safeguarding Security is an around-the-clock mission. To tackle the complexity of this challenge, central intelligence and military agencies turn to this technology firm as a trusted technology partner.

The Role:

Lead the design, deployment, and optimisation of a next- IaaS platform for the Ministry of Defence using VMware technologies. Configure and refine VRO workflows, manage VCD instances—including resource pools and networking - and deploy NSX-T for enhanced software-defined networking and security.

Work closely with infrastructure and operations teams to integrate VMware solutions seamlessly, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide expert technical support. Maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams and procedures to ensure long-term operational efficiency and resilience.

Essential Requirements:

  1. Must hold SC and/or Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance.
  2. Proven experience with VMware-based IaaS solutions - vRealize Orchestrator (VRO), VMware Cloud Director (VCD) & NSX-T.
  3. Skilled in configuring VRO workflows and automating tasks with scripting (PowerShell, Python).
  4. Expertise in NSX-T for software-defined networking and security.
  5. Integrating VMware solutions with existing systems and providing technical support.
  6. Competence in developing and maintaining technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
  7. Knowledgeable about emerging VMware technologies and best practices.
  8. Strong understanding of VMware vSphere and SDN principles.
  9. Effective in Agile teams and able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  10. VMware certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP) are advantageous.
