Job description

The VMU Tyres and Parts Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of spare parts and materials. The role involves organizing stock, maintaining records, and supporting the workshop or operations team by providing necessary parts in a timely manner. The Tyre Management will involve the selection, maintenance, and performance of tyres across a company's fleet of vehicles. This role ensures that tyres meet safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness standards while managing inventory, supplier relationships, and compliance with regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  1. Receive, inspect, store, and issue parts.
  2. Maintain accurate stock levels and records.
  3. Conduct regular audits and reorder parts as needed.
  4. Monitor tyre wear, pressure, and performance.
  5. Ensure compliance with safety and legal standards.
  6. Coordinate tyre inspections, replacements, and performance tracking.
  7. Analyse tyre usage and recommend cost-effective strategies.
  8. Track tyre metrics and support efficiency programs.
  9. Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams.
  10. Assist in tyre budgeting and cost control.
  11. Manage supplier relationships and returns.
  12. Ensure safety, training, and regulatory compliance.

Skills & Qualifications

  1. Experience in inventory or tyre management (automotive/logistics preferred).
  2. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  3. Familiarity with inventory systems and TPMS.
  4. Ability to analyze data and manage supplier relationships.
  5. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; relevant certifications preferred.
  6. Physically able to handle parts when required.
