About the Role :

The Medical Workforce Unit is looking for applications from motivated and suitably experienced Business Partners to join the Senior Medical Workforce at Northern Health (located at Northern Hospital Epping). The Medical Workforce Unit is responsible for medical workforce planning and the recruitment of senior medical staff (SMS) and junior medical staff (JMS) across Northern Health. This portfolio will be working with our exciting and innovative Division of Virtual Care.

The Opportunity :

  • Work closely with the Director of Medical Workforce and Medical Workforce Leadership team as well as other key stakeholders to ensure all administrative aspects of recruitment, credentialing and re-appointment are completed in a proactive manner.
  • Assist doctors with queries regarding Continuing Medical Education (CME) claims.
  • Gain an understanding of the operational requirements for a portfolio of clinical units to help provide support for senior medical staffing as well as address SMS workforce issues as they arise and escalate appropriately.
  • Work closely with the Heads of Units and Divisional Directors to discuss future staffing requirements, review relevant EBA and / or craft group arrangements and assist with Business Case formulation and costings.
  • Provide a point of contact for all internal stakeholders (including payroll and People and Culture) regarding all SMS employment matters.
  • Some adhoc project work, assisting finance with budget formulation and maintenance of clinicians' work schedules.
  • Complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner, including keeping relevant databases up to date.

To be successful in this role you will have :

  • Experience in office administration within a complex environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and high level interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously with Clinical Leadership.
  • Previous experience in staffing recruitment and appointment processes and principles or previous experience in payroll, finance or billing for medical specialists would be highly regarded.
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, Business / Finance Administration, Health, Management or equivalent work experience would be highly regarded.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
