Job Description: We are searching for the best talent for a Vice President, GU Sales & Marketing, Oncology to be located in Horsham, Pennsylvania. The leader of this role will be responsible for:

Directing and coordinating critical processes related to business planning, marketing plans, portfolio management and development, market research, new product launches, business performance tracking, and multi-channel marketing. This position has a direct contribution to the development of business and/or functional strategies and typically, responsibility for managing multiple teams of professionals. Provide commercial input for business development opportunities.

Marketing responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of all sales and marketing strategies, plans and activities for GU, Solid Tumor within Oncology.
  • Co-lead in partnership situations the global marketing strategy and life cycle management. Driving brand strategies to support future company vision.
  • Responsible for assuring franchise, LCM, and brand strategies to support overall financial and strategic goals for the GU, Sales and Marketing organization.
  • Exerts marketing and business influence on board of organization – critical member of Leadership Team.
  • Develops strategic direction for future indications and overall marketing team.
  • Pursues L&A opportunities and internal J&J partnerships to strengthen the GU Sales and Marketing Solid Tumor Oncology business.
  • Provides leadership, input and development to sales and marketing teams to drive learning and future growth.
  • Assures alignment of brand strategy to corporate/company vision.
  • Shape external environment for aligning to company vision.
  • Assuring adherence to HCC guidelines.
  • Assures adherence to principles of MX and a strong focus on the development of marketing talent.

Sales responsibilities include:

  • Elevates the sales team to a high performance, outcomes-focused, organization where inclusion is valued, and where team’s skills, knowledge, and abilities are continually evolving to meet future needs. Consistently strives to achieve performance excellence.
  • Drives successful business plan execution across the organization. Leads the team in cascading the business strategy. Holds the field leadership team accountable for continually refining and executing plans to capitalize on emerging opportunities within their geographies.
  • Proactively provides input into sales force deployment strategies based on thorough research, analytical insights, and marketplace needs analysis to enable the sales force to fully align with emerging market conditions, unique customer and market segment conditions, and the business strategy, in order to consistently deliver results.
  • Sets clear and compelling expectations. Develops and consistently communicates the vision and the overall business strategy throughout the team and business partners to drive alignment and effectiveness.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Develops influential relationships with National KOLs and decision makers within designated national customers, suppliers, distributors, academic centers of excellence, and manufacturers.
  • Builds a high performing team by continually refining and improving the quality of talent within the Business Unit to enhance the organization’s ability to meet today’s needs, while preparing for the future.
  • Ensures that approved tools, processes, and systems are consistently leveraged to maximize company resources.
  • Seeks opportunities for advancement by mentoring and championing for high potential staff members across the organization.
  • Continually evaluates and translates environmental conditions by designing and applying next generation measures to assess market conditions.
  • Serve as Oncology Leadership Team member providing input, guidance, recommendations, and decisions as they apply to the Solid Tumor Oncology business.
  • Balance the needs of functional leadership with business leadership across the Janssen Biotech Oncology business and across Janssen NA.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a related field, advanced degree preferred.
  • 15 years commercial experience (at least 10 years pharmaceutical) on multiple brands, including product launch experience and people management is required.
  • Previous sales experience required.
  • Additional experience in at least one other relevant functional area (medical, business development, strategic marketing, etc.) highly desirable.
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred, additional brand experience in other specialty markets, DTC or Consumer, and experience marketing products in various cycles of the product lifecycle, are also desired.
  • Minimum of 5+ years people management experience and demonstrated strong people development skills are required.
  • Candidates must have demonstrated strong financial acumen.
  • Understanding of payer channels, understanding of end-to-end product development process through patent expiration, and past success in leading a field sales team/organization is preferred.
