Join a forward-thinking veterinary practice dedicated to providing exceptional care for pets. As a veterinary surgeon specializing in orthopaedics, you'll play a pivotal role in our busy service, working with a diverse range of cases. This innovative firm values professional development and offers support for further training in advanced surgical techniques. Enjoy a balanced work schedule with no weekends or bank holidays, and benefit from a comprehensive package including generous holiday, health care, and pension schemes. Be part of a community-focused organization that prioritizes accessibility to veterinary care for all pet owners.
We are looking for a veterinary surgeon, with a special interest in orthopaedics; supported with either a post-graduate certificate in small animal surgery or extensive experience in this area, to continue to develop our busy orthopaedic service. Due to our diverse caseload of elective and non-elective cases, and both internal and external referrals, the ideal candidate would be confident with cruciate repair (ideally TPLO/CCWO, but TTA acceptable with a view to upskill in TPLO), patella luxation, and both simple and more complicated fractures.
The successful candidate would help spearhead the orthopaedic service in the Yorkshire region for Animal Trust. This role would ideally be on a full-time basis working 3 days in Theatre and one day on consults. Part-time candidates can also be considered for this role.
Barnsley, clinic features 10 consulting rooms and four theatres, complete with X-ray and dental suites.
We have recently introduced nurse-led care during the night. This ensures that our patients, in stable conditions, experience a comfortable and monitored recovery overnight in their kennels.
At Animal Trust, you'll find a supportive and inclusive culture that values each individual's contribution. We operate without hierarchy, fostering an environment where every team member contributes to our shared commitment to clinical excellence.
Training and Development: At Animal Trust, we understand that not every candidate may have experience in all the required areas. If you are passionate about orthopaedics but feel you might need further development in certain aspects, we encourage you to apply. We can offer training and support to help you enhance your skills and grow into the role. Our team is committed to your professional development, ensuring you gain confidence and proficiency in advanced procedures.
About Animal Trust: Animal Trust stands out from other veterinary services. Firstly, we are a unique Community Interest Company, being the only veterinary CIC in the UK to date. Our primary focus isn't solely on maximising profits; instead, we are dedicated to delivering on our mission and ensuring enough profit to sustain our business in the long term. We recently achieved B Corp status, making us one of the pioneering veterinary practices in Europe and the largest veterinary group globally to be B Corp certified.
Our vision is clear: No pet should go untreated or face euthanasia when there is a viable treatment option. We firmly believe that pet ownership should be accessible to all, acknowledging that individuals earning the Real Living Wage may encounter challenges in affording veterinary care when their pet falls ill. In response, we aim to assist. Our free consultations and transparent pricing enable our vets and nurses to break down the barriers that stand in the way of pets receiving the treatment they need.
