Job description

Veterinary Surgeon - North Devon

• Award winning, independent small animal practice located in rural Mid Devon
• RCVS accredited with state-of-the-art facilities including digital X-ray, an in-house laboratory, ultrasound scanner, laparoscopy and more
• No OOH and an excellent work-life balance
• Superb salary up to £70,000

A friendly and independent small animal practice in rural Mid Devon is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join their fantastic team. With a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and fostering a healthy work-life balance, this role presents a wonderful opportunity for both new graduates and experienced Veterinary Surgeons.

Our client is RCVS accredited and holds ISFM Gold Standard for Cat Friendly care. Located in a charming market town, the practice is ideally situated with easy access to the beautiful landscapes of Exmoor, Dartmoor, and both the North and South Devon coasts. In December 2019, they moved into a new, purpose-built facility that offers more space, convenience, and parking facilities for both staff and clients. The practice is well-equipped with the latest diagnostic technology, including digital X-ray, an in-house laboratory, ultrasound scanner, laparoscopy, and a full range of modern anaesthetic medicines, machines, and monitors.

They are looking for a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. Whether you are an experienced vet looking to develop your skills further or a new graduate starting your career, they will provide all the support you need. With a large team of experienced nurses and a dedicated Vet GDP adviser, you will have access to excellent mentorship and guidance as you grow professionally.

Although the practice is busy, our client proactively manages their diary to ensure a balanced working day. Consultations are 15 minutes long, giving you ample time to build strong relationships with clients and their pets. They also ensure that regular breaks are scheduled, along with time for administrative tasks, so you can maintain a healthy work rhythm and leave on time.

They offer a 4-day working week from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with Saturday shifts on a shared rota of one in four or five weeks. There are no out-of-hours requirements as patients are supported by a trusted local OOH provider. This means you can enjoy a great work-life balance and have time to focus on what matters most.

Our client is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon who shares their commitment to excellence in animal care. Whether you are starting your career or looking for your next professional challenge, they offer a supportive, collaborative environment where you can thrive.

If you are excited about this opportunity to join a wonderful independent practice in a picturesque part of the UK, we would love to hear from you. Please don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss this opportunity further.

Join this team and make a real difference in the lives of animals, all while enjoying life in the beautiful Devon countryside!
