Glenshane Veterinary Clinic has an exciting opportunity for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team. This role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working with different species: 65% is farm work with a touch of equine, and 35% is a good caseload of companion animal work.
Ideal Candidate: A confident Veterinary Surgeon preferably with some experience in both farm and companion animal work. Newly/recently graduated Veterinary Surgeons are welcome to apply and will certainly be considered. A driving license is an essential requirement for this role.
About Glenshane Veterinary Clinic: We have a team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 of whom have 20 years+ experience, along with a dedicated Veterinary Nursing and Support team. We are a 3-branch practice located at the foot of the Sperrin Mountain. Two branches have a farm animal handling facility. We are equipped with various tools for both farm and small animal practice including easy scan/small animal ultrasound, IDEXX lab station, microscope, Ovacte, x-ray, endoscope, ECG, kennelling/stabling facilities, small ruminant operating table, and horse stock.
The small animal practice offers routine consults and surgery, internal medicine investigations, soft tissue surgery, some orthopaedic surgery, and emergency surgery as required. We mainly see cats and dogs and some small furries, but occasionally a reptile or bird is also presented.
Work Schedule: The standard full-time vet rota consists of a 40-hour week, working 1 weekend in 4 with a long weekend off in lieu the following week plus out-of-hours work.
