Job description

Salary up to £65,000 DOE, Welcome Bonus up to £5,000 plus Relocation Allowance up to £5,000

The team at Woodside Veterinary Group are looking for a passionate veterinary surgeon to join us on a permanent basis. Based in the beautiful Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Woodside is a mixed practice that serves traditional beef and sheep farms while also providing exceptional care for family pets across three sites. We offer a diverse range of mixed practice work, with opportunities to develop specialised roles within the team based on individual interests. The workload includes routine farm care, smallholder support, and occasional equine work. OV qualifications are a plus, although TB testing is minimal in 4-year parishes.

The full time position involves working a 40 hours per week over 4 days alongside an equally shared out of hours rota and 4 in 12 weekends creating a good work life balance.

Our practice is fully outfitted with advanced tools, including multiparameter monitoring equipment, video endoscope, ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental machines, and in-house lab equipment for comprehensive diagnostics and treatments.


We currently have a dynamic team of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and a dedicated support staff. Our team is friendly, supportive, and passionate, offering a diverse range of medical and surgical cases that allow our nurses to fully utilize their skills and expertise. We are committed to continuous growth and development, encouraging our vets and nurses to pursue learning opportunities and bring fresh ideas to enhance our practice. You will be based mid-way between the attractions of Aberdeen city and the Cairngorm National Park with all both have to offer on your doorstep. Torphins lies 22 miles west of Aberdeen and at the edge of the Cairngorm National Park. Royal Deeside offers excellent opportunities for walking, biking, climbing, golf and skiing for outdoor enthusiasts. However, there are plenty castles and distilleries to explore nearby with cosy cafes and good quality restaurants for those a bit less adventurous.
