An established industry player is seeking an experienced Farm Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a supportive team in a picturesque location. This permanent, full-time role offers a balanced work-life approach with flexible hours, allowing you to thrive both professionally and personally. You will engage in progressive farm animal medicine, providing care for a variety of clients while benefiting from a generous CPD allowance and opportunities for ongoing development. Forth Valley Vets are looking for an experienced Farm Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team on a permanent basis. Based in Stirling, we are situated east of the Trossachs National Park, offering an ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts while benefiting from excellent commuter links to Glasgow and Edinburgh.
We provide specialist ambulatory care to farm, smallholder, and equine clients across the Central Belt and beyond. Our farm workload is approximately 30% dairy and 70% beef and sheep, working with a mix of pedigree and commercial herds. We take a progressive approach to farm animal medicine, focusing on fertility planning and preventative healthcare alongside routine emergencies. There is also the opportunity to include equine work if desired, with most cases involving routine care for leisure horses and ponies. Our facilities enable us to offer lameness investigations, endoscopy, gastroscopy, and emergency care.
Our people are at the heart of everything that we do, that's why we know that work-life balance is vital in supporting our people to be their best selves. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle no matter what stage you are in your career.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours over 4 days, with part-time options available for the right candidate. We are proud to provide our own out-of-hours service, with our reception team answering calls overnight to support our vets. A valid UK driving license is required.
We are a well-established, close-knit team, consisting of 10 vets, including our Clinical Director, and supported by a Practice Manager and reception team. Several of our vets hold certificates in their individual fields, and we encourage ongoing development, whether through additional qualifications or career progression.
Our brand-new, purpose-built facility is currently under construction, ensuring access to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. We actively support clinical development through regular Clinical Clubs and staff meetings and provide a high-spec work vehicle. Additional benefits include a generous CPD allowance, a strong focus on employee wellbeing, regular performance reviews, and annual pay reviews.
At Forth Valley Vets, we value a positive team culture and regularly enjoy social activities outside of work. During the summer, we love getting involved in local agricultural shows and team events. If you are looking for a dynamic, supportive environment with an excellent work-life balance, we'd love to hear from you!
We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:
