Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Penzance. £40k - £70k DOE
Are you an animal lover who has always wanted to care for sick animals? If you have become a fully qualified veterinary surgeon but are feeling disillusioned with the production line consults and corporate pressures, this opportunity is for you.
Join a caring team where you can own your cases, progress, and be the best vet you can be. This independent practice, owned and run by local vets, is located just 500 yards from the beach and is hiring for growth.
We are looking for a GP vet with at least two years of experience to provide first opinion consultations, undertake surgical procedures, perform dental work, and handle some emergency surgeries. Additional skills in Orthopaedics, Cardiology, and Imaging are a bonus. There are plenty of opportunities to develop your skills in the direction you desire.
Our strong team collaborates effectively, ensuring the best care for our patients. As an independent practice, we prioritize our team and patients over corporate targets and stress.
We have recently expanded with new facilities, including a second theatre, a new dental suite, and larger isolation kennels. Our future plans focus on internal management and ownership, as we aim to expand into the neighboring area next year.
Enjoy a 4-day work week with one weekend in five and no out-of-hours work. What’s in it for you?
With a protected lunch break, you can easily enjoy a walk on the beach and take in the views of St Michaels Mount. Living by the coast offers a variety of activities, including surfing, kayaking, hiking, and paddleboarding.
Located less than 20 minutes from Porthleven and St Ives, you’ll have access to shopping, restaurants, galleries, and direct train services to London and Newquay Airport.
So, what’s next? Send your CV—don’t worry if it’s not up to date. Feel free to ask any questions; I’ll answer honestly without any hard sell. Enjoy being a vet again in a practice that truly cares.
