About us
Our practice partner, Marina Scoffone, qualified at the University of Turin in 1993 and has a special interest in Soft Tissue Surgery and a Masters in Clinical Oncology from University Birmingham. Marina has 31 years of experience and enjoys all aspects of veterinary science and has enjoyed training new graduates over the last 3 decades.
You will be joining a hard-working and supportive team of 1 Vet and locum vets covering various days. We currently have a team of 2 RVNs and are ever growing with 2 additional part time RVNs joining us in the coming months! Both our current RVNs have a wealth of experience and are supported by two full time VCAs who together have a vast knowledge varying from medical to IT.
Our front of house is run by our Receptionist who has been with us for several years and has a fantastic relationship with all our patients and clients.
Hertford is a historic market town in Hertfordshire and is home to attractions such as Hertford Castle and the Hertford Museum, offering a glimpse into its fascinating past. With its proximity to London (just 20 miles away), we are in the perfect location for transport links while maintaining a quaint, small-town atmosphere perfect for everyone!
Our practice is based inside the busy Pets at Home store on the Madford Retail Park, giving the team great exposure to varied cases and a loyal client base.
About you
The ideal vet to join us will be motivated and proactive, with solid medical and surgical skills. There will be sole charge so you should also feel comfortable with this. Key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the role, delivering excellent patient and client care.
You should have a Degree in Veterinary Medicine (MRCVS or equivalent) and be registered with the RCVS.
You will have strong medical and surgical skills, with a passion for animal welfare. Alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team and with clients.
We see a variety of caseloads so your ability to manage a varied caseload with confidence and professionalism is paramount.

We are open to considering a full or part time candidates for this role, with a requirement to work 1:2 Saturdays and time off in lieu.
