Job description

At Bracknell Vets4pets, we have aspirations to grow our practice further and are now looking for an ambitious Veterinary Surgeon to join us on this journey.

We’re ideally looking for an experienced vet to join our super friendly, close-knit team. Our Practice Owner, Kirsty, is 13 years qualified with a surgical certificate, hospital experience, and has particular interests in regenerative medicine and chronic pain management. Alongside Kirsty, we have Georgina, an amazing very experienced medic, and Jess, a great all-rounder with interests in feline medicine and dentistry.

“We love a bit of Disney, tea coffee & cake. We are a super fun tight-knit team and all love working together. We work hard to a good standard, but we have fun whilst doing it!”

Our surgery is purpose-built to deliver the highest clinical standards and provides excellent facilities. We work on most cases in practice, including performing stem cell and PRP intra-articular injections, and we have a visiting Orthopaedic surgeon. We have a wide array of equipment including, but not limited to; syringe drivers, drip pumps, multi-parameter, capnography, doppler, suction, diathermy, in-house bloods, PRP machine, dental radiography, tonopen, and a decent ultrasound machine.

Work/life balance is taken seriously as we think a happier team is a better performing team. Our diary is managed to a level where our vets don’t feel overloaded, and we try to give a personal customer service lead care.

We already have a loyal client base with the potential for further growth, and cases can be worked up locally giving you the opportunity to develop any specific interests you have, with certification encouraged and fully funded. We’re also keen to learn new things from you, so if you have previously done CPD, we want to hear all about it! We’re always open to trialling new ideas and work closely together with the aim of providing the best care for our patients and a great client experience from phone call to case completion.

As well as a career path built for you and a salary up to £70,000, we offer numerous benefits (pension, healthcare, paid memberships, etc.) plus a few more, such as development opportunities, death in service pay out, and exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 30% off at Pets at Home).

This position can be fully flexible, full or part-time. Saturdays are on a 1:3 fair rota basis shared with the rest of the team, and there are no Sundays or bank holidays.

We’re conveniently situated on the large Peel Centre Retail Park, which allows free parking and access to loads of high street brands. We also have a number of fantastic restaurants just down the road in The Lexicon.

If you think you’re a good match to what we are looking for, and you share our belief that together ‘we’re better with pets’, we’re waiting to hear from you.
