Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Technician OR MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Duties

1. Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
2. Inspect vehicles for safety issues, including brakes, lights, tyres, and emissions.
3. Document findings accurately and provide detailed reports on the condition of each vehicle.
4. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs as necessary.
5. Communicate with customers regarding test results and any required repairs or maintenance.
6. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
7. Assist in training junior staff members in testing procedures and best practices.

Experience

1. Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.
2. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues effectively.
3. Familiarity with using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
4. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle inspections and repairs.
5. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
6. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
