Vehicle Technician

Salary: 33,000 + Overtime (Time and a Half Monday to Saturday, Double Time on Sundays and Bank Holidays)

Salary after Training: 42,000

OTE: 45,000 - 50,000

Location: Ipswich

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join the team. You will be responsible for both reactive and preventative maintenance of a fleet of material handling equipment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Conducting regular preventative maintenance across the fleet
  • Updating preventative maintenance schedules and records on the CMMS
  • Providing updates to customer stakeholders on breakdowns, fleet availability, and reliability
  • Building strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service

The Candidate:

For the higher salary range, experience working on forklift trucks is required, but we will consider candidates with the following backgrounds:

  • Experience working with motorized vehicles, including plant fitters, forklift technicians, field service engineers, or vehicle technicians
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Experience with plant equipment, powered access machinery, agricultural machinery, or industrial cleaners is highly desirable
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field is beneficial but not essential
  • Must be computer literate and have strong communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
