About the Role
As a Vehicle Paint Technician, you will play a key role in restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition through expert paint application and finishing techniques. Working as part of a skilled team, you will ensure high-quality workmanship, operational efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Preparing vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, priming, and masking.
2. Mixing and matching paint colours using manufacturer specifications and spectrometer technology.
3. Applying primers, basecoats, and clearcoats to achieve a flawless finish.
4. Carrying out smart repairs and blending techniques where required.
5. Ensuring all work meets manufacturer and BSI 10125 standards.
6. Collaborating with panel technicians, estimators, and workshop controllers to optimise repair processes.
7. Minimising rework by delivering right-first-time paint applications.
8. Colour matching - using a spectrometer and manual techniques to ensure a flawless finish.
9. Colour tinting and detailing - refining and perfecting paintwork to meet manufacturer and customer expectations.
10. Following health & safety regulations to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.

1. Skilled Paint Technician with proven experience in vehicle refinishing.
2. Strong technical knowledge of modern paint systems, application techniques, and colour matching.
3. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
4. Team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues across the workshop.
5. Health & Safety awareness and commitment to maintaining compliance.
6. Relevant qualifications (IMI, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Paint preferred).
7. Manufacturer approvals or BS 10125 accreditation are desirable.
