VAT & Outsourcing Manager / Senior Manager

Are you a fully ACA Qualified VAT & Outsourcing Manager or Senior Manager with strong VAT advisory skills, looking to upgrade to a very good quality, traditional medium-sized London-based accountancy firm? This varied role consists of managing all the firm's client VAT returns and VAT advisory work, reviewing management accounts, and overseeing a small number of bookkeeping assignments.

In this newly created position at a firm of 50 staff, you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients from a wide variety of sectors, servicing these clients to a high standard. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and managing all the firm's VAT returns, management accounts, and bookkeeping assignments, as well as staff supervision and training. You will handle client queries, conduct technical research, respond to HMRC queries, and get involved with ad hoc projects and advisory work. This role will be varied, challenging, and hugely enjoyable, with excellent progression opportunities on offer.

You will gain exposure to a wide range of UK and international clients, including groups from sectors such as property, legal, technology, renewable energy, professional practices, retail, media, and other interesting sectors. The firm has successfully attracted individuals who have trained outside of London and wish to relocate to a Central London firm for enhanced exposure and opportunities. The firm also offers hybrid working arrangements, allowing employees to work from home up to three times a week.

To be considered for this role (February 2025), you must have at least three years PQE and be fully ACA Qualified, currently operating at either Manager or Senior Manager level in a role focused on VAT returns, VAT advisory work, and management accounts. You should have experience with a wide range of software packages, including cloud-based software such as Xero. The ideal candidate will be well-presented, a team player, and eager to progress at a rapid pace.
