Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bromsgrove District and Redditch to assist with the appointment of a Van Light Tipper Mechanic, on a 4-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client’s discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £16.61 - £21.04 per Hour

Summary:

Bromsgrove and Redditch Council is seeking two skilled Van/Light Tipper Mechanics to join the Workshop and Fleet Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a small, friendly team where you're valued as more than just a number. You'll be responsible for maintaining and servicing the council's fleet of light vehicles and plant machinery.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform service, repairs, and maintenance on light fleet vehicles and plant machinery.
  • Conduct safety inspections in line with council and DVSA standards.
  • Work collaboratively within the Workshop & Fleet team at either Bromsgrove or Redditch Depot.

Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 in a relevant automotive/mechanical field (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a fleet workshop environment.
  • DVSA Nominated Tester (Class 4 required; Class 5 & 7 highly desirable but not essential).
