The Role:

Are you an experienced Vacuum Excavator Driver looking for a stable and rewarding role? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our expanding team. This is a permanent position with overtime opportunities available. We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.

Here are some of the activities that you'll get involved in:

  1. Operating Vacuum Excavators - Safely manoeuvring and operating Vac-Ex machinery to remove soil and debris without damaging underground utilities.
  2. Utility Avoidance - Carefully excavating around gas, water, electric, and telecom lines to prevent damage.
  3. Material Handling & Disposal - Collecting, storing, and disposing of excavated material in accordance with regulations.
  4. Routine Maintenance - Performing daily checks and minor maintenance on the Vac-Ex lorry.
  5. Assisting the Team - Supporting groundworkers when required, especially if the Vac-Ex is out of service.
  6. Site Safety Compliance - Following safety protocols, wearing PPE, and ensuring traffic management procedures are adhered to.
  7. Record Keeping - Completing job logs, risk assessments, and other relevant paperwork.
  8. Standby & Call-Outs - Being available for standby shifts as part of the team rota.

We would love to hear from you if:

You hold a full HGV Class 2 licence with HIAB (grab) and a CPCS qualification for grab and Vac-Ex operation. Experience operating Vacuum Excavator lorries and working with Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) 7.5t and above is essential. You must also have a Safety Critical Medical Certificate and be flexible to work on a standby rota when required. A willingness to work as part of a team when necessary is also important.

Additionally, having NRSWA (Units 1 & 2 - SLG) qualifications, CPC, or EUSR certifications would be advantageous. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment will also be beneficial in this role.
