VACANCY | WOMEN'S & BOYS' PATHWAY STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

Job Title: Women and Boys Pathway Strength & Conditioning Coach

Reports to: Head of Athletic Performance

Location: Middlesex Indoor Cricket School, Merchant Taylors’ School & various locations around Middlesex

Salary: £24,000 per annum dependent on experience

Term: Full Time – Fixed Term Contract until September 2026 – However, a job share option, splitting the role into two part-time positions is also available if required to recruit the appropriate candidates.

The Role

Middlesex Cricket, based at Lord’s, is responsible for cricket in the county, from Men’s and Women’s teams to recreational cricket for all ages within 17 London Boroughs that form the county of Middlesex. Middlesex CCC have an exciting opportunity for a Strength and Conditioning coach to work with the Middlesex Women’s team, as well as delivering to the Boys U11-16 Age Group squads.

Successful applicants will be offered the chance to gain experience under the supervision of the Middlesex Strength and Conditioning Coaches within the following areas:

  • Deliver high quality physical preparation, strength and conditioning coaching, and nutritional support for the Middlesex Women’s squad and Boys U11-16 Age Group squads.
  • Help foster an environment where each individual can thrive and achieve their potential, with a specific focus on developing and mentoring medical staff to deliver excellence.
  • Support the Head of Athletic Performance to ensure alignment and continuity of physical preparation strategies for all pathway players and professional athletes, across all playing environments.
  • Support the long-term planning processes and strategy for delivery of strength and conditioning and related services.
  • Support and deliver appropriate and consistent testing and monitoring of players in line with ECB guidelines.
  • Mentored towards undertaking UKSCA accreditation and other professional qualifications.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in sport science or related discipline.
  • UKSCA accreditation (or ability to attain within 6 months).
  • Full driving license and access to a car as some travel around a variety of London locations will be required.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence working alone and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiastic and a willingness to learn.
  • Some experience of coaching sport and exercise – including work with youth athletes.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo enhanced disclosure checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
  • Postgraduate degree in Sport Science or related discipline (preferred).
  • Current first aid qualification (assistance to obtain available).
  • ISAK accreditation (preferred).
  • Previous experience coaching within a professional sports environment (preferred).
