The Siemens Sheffield office now forms a hub for user-centred design practice within Siemens Product Engineering Software. The customer experience team is a multi-disciplinary team formed of Product Designers and User Researchers.
What we’re looking forAre you a recent graduate or postgraduate looking to start your career as a user researcher with a focus on enterprise applications? Are you ready to help change the perception that enterprise applications are not user friendly, complicated to learn and hard to master?
Your degree should contain a high level of human behaviour content, and you should have an exceptional curiosity about looking beyond what people say and explore what they actually do. You should be a naturally curious person, who goes above and beyond to represent the needs of our users. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for you to develop the skills for a career as a user researcher and provides you the chance to work directly with a committed team on high impact projects in an exciting and varied environment.
What you’ll be doingDuring this 12-month internship you will be reporting to the User Research lead and Design lead. You will work in a small, agile team tasked with providing actionable customer insights to inform the design of our flagship CAD software. You will involve yourself in quantitative and qualitative research such as usability testing, interviews, surveys, reviewing analytics and more along with other user researchers. Whilst you will closely work alongside Product Designers, your work will solely focus on the user research activities of the product design and development process.
