Role Summary

Are you looking for a new rewarding career or considering returning to practice within the NHS? A career where you can make a difference and change lives for the better? A career where commitment, talent and potential are recognised and rewarded? One that provides training and ongoing development opportunities?

We have opportunities to join the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s Urgent Community Response teams of front-line staff, providing support to patients at home. This includes following discharge from hospital, after illness or surgery and also help with end of life care.

Every day, you will make a huge difference to the lives of the people we care for, delivering a high standard of care alongside your colleagues. Providing personal care, promoting nutritional needs, and assisting in the recovery and recuperation of patients on their journey to better health are just some aspects of this essential role.

About the Role

We currently have vacancies in the WEB area – Woodbury, Exmouth & Budleigh.

This is a permanent post and full time and part time applications are welcomed.

You will be travelling across a wide geographical area, primarily linked to an Exmouth Hospital base. You must demonstrate willingness and flexibility to work across multiple sites/localities as the need arises.

The service operates on a 7-day rota system including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.

It is essential that you have a kind and caring nature, are patient and able to offer a friendly smile. You must feel comfortable working on your own supported by a team of professional colleagues.

Duties will include provision of personal care, clinical duties where delegated, monitoring the patient’s condition and working with health and social care professionals to ensure that patients are safe and well at home. You will need great interpersonal and communication skills and be able to connect with individuals with varying levels of understanding.

Successful candidates will have NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification, and ideally have experience of working with older people in a community setting. You will also need to be competent with IT as electronic recording is an essential part of the role. You will be provided with a comprehensive induction programme including support to complete the National Care Certificate.

You must have a full UK driver’s licence with access to your own vehicle (with appropriate business insurance) as you will be travelling to patient’s homes to care for them.
