Urban Designer

Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working in close partnership with a highly successful Architectural Practice based in Surrey, seeking an Urban Designer to join their expanding team.

This award-winning firm is searching for an Experienced Urban Designer or Senior Architect to join their practice in Surrey, working on high-quality projects from small high-end residential to large scale multi-unit schemes for housing developers, working from conception to completion on units from 10-1000.

I'm seeking a motivated and experienced Urban Designer to join and enhance my client's expanding Architectural team. This role will see the successful Urban Designer collaborating closely with a team of talented architects and technical specialists to deliver feasibility layouts, project tendering, curating masterplans, and outline planning applications.

Essential Urban Designer Requirements:

1. ARB registered or Chartership - Desirable
2. 5+ years of Post Qual UK industry experience
3. Comfortable in a client-facing role
4. Ability to run projects efficiently
5. A UK Recognizable degree or postgraduate diploma in Urban Design or Architecture
6. Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Adobe packages
7. Working knowledge of other industry software
8. Proven ability working as a Senior team member under limited supervision
9. Strong technical and design skills

Key Responsibilities of the Urban Designer:

1. Feasibility layouts from 10-1000 units
2. Curating masterplans, outline planning applications, and working on Reserved matter applications
3. Be responsible for carrying out site visits and appraisals, creating reports and planning applications
4. Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and external consultants to ensure project success
5. Ensuring a high standard of technical quality is met both in the office and on site
6. Mentoring and guiding junior team members in their professional growth

On offer for the Urban Designer will be a salary ranging from £45,000 - £55,000 dependant on experience, a generous benefits package inclusive of professional subscription fees, and hybrid working upon completing probation.
