Job description

Jas Bhalla Works is looking to recruit an urban designer to join its studio in London.

We are looking for an experienced and talented designer to contribute to a range of projects across our portfolio, including strategic masterplans, new settlements and town centre strategies. Applicants must have a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience with demonstrable experience in UK projects.

Candidates will have the following:

• a background in town planning, architecture or landscape architecture with a focus on urban design
• an interest in the UK planning process and its social, economic and environmental outcomes
• a minimum of two years' professional experience with UK masterplanning, urban design and housing projects
• knowledge of UK planning legislation
• strong presentation skills and excellent written and spoken English
• proficient in the use of the Adobe suite
• Revit and Rhino skills are desirable but not essential
• experience of liaising independently with sub-consultants, clients and contractors
• a desire to contribute to a start-up culture to grow the practice
• a demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion within the architecture and planning industries
