Job description

We are currently seeking Cover Supervisors to join our increasingly growing team of passionate educators within the Swansea & surrounding areas. If you are somebody already employed in education, perhaps as an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take a step up to a more hands-on role, or somebody coming from another relevant sector looking to enter the world of education, this role may be exactly what you’re looking for!

We are actively looking to find an individual with experience, confidence, and a can-do attitude which will be invaluable in a classroom environment. You will be responsible for overseeing 20-30 young adults at one time and keeping them motivated within Education.

What will the role involve?
  • Deliver pre-planned lesson plans, in a structured manner, across multiple subjects.
  • Support pupils as they undertake work in line with the national curriculum priorities.
  • Undertake additional duties, such as administrative tasks, break and lunch duties, as and when required.
  • Maintain classroom discipline in line with the school discipline policy.
  • Build rapport between yourself and pupils.
  • Promote the school ethos and adhere to all school policies and procedures.
  • Follow behaviour management and safeguarding policies effectively.
  • Work closely with all school colleagues and under the direction of the school leadership team.
  • Provide feedback on student progress and behaviour throughout the day to colleagues and parents, if requested.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Be Degree Qualified.
  • Feel confident in teaching a full class of children.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Have experience of working in a Secondary School setting or with older children.
  • Have strong classroom management skills.
  • Be passionate about improving the education outcomes for all pupils.
  • Have excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Be able to support and promote the ethos of the school.
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST:
  • Be a driver with access to your own vehicle (Essential).
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK with proof of documentation.
  • Be registered (or willing to register) with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) & Disclose & Barring Service (DBS).
  • Provide 24 months worth of references, including any related references you may have worked with children.
