Are you a Geography graduate who is considering a long-term career in Teaching? Are you a confident individual who would feel comfortable leading the class as an Unqualified Geography Teacher?
We are working with a multi-academy trust school in Canvey Island who are seeking a confident Geography Graduate to work as an Unqualified Geography Teacher. This position is a long-term role from April 2025 throughout the summer term with the option for initial teacher training in September.
As an Unqualified Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for leading lessons of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher. Based on your subject specialism, you will be supporting students in the absence of the teacher. Unqualified Geography Teachers will be responsible for teaching students at KS3, GCSE, and A-Level. Successful Unqualified Geography Teachers are adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, and organised; they have a passion for education and supporting young people.
This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience of working within a Secondary school prior to applying to Initial Teacher Training. Although previous experience of working in a Secondary School is desirable, it is not essential. Unqualified Humanities Teachers at this school have been given additional support and training to help them become fully qualified teachers after 1 year of teaching.
