Job description

We’re looking for a Unified Communications Architect to provide technical unified leadership. You’ll be responsible for defining the unified communications roadmap, ensuring that AXA integrates unified communications into the adoption and use of all new technologies and information systems.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing vision and direction for our roadmap for Unified Communications (UC) architecture
  • Ensuring alignment of technologies to the prescribed target Unified Communications (UC) architecture
  • Developing and embedding standards and patterns for common Unified Communications (UC) problems across AXA UK and Ireland
  • Driving simplification of the Unified Communications (UC) technology estate
  • Monitoring the changing Unified Communications (UC) technology landscape to ensure our Unified Communications (UC) remain up-to-date, effective and continually improving
  • Predicting future trends and any emerging threats
  • Assessing new and existing strategic AXA UK and Ireland products and systems to identify short falls and improvements in our Unified Communications (UC) and creating improvement plans where required
  • Identifying and evaluating Unified Communications (UC) tools, vendors and partners including early identification of emerging tools and vendors to meet our future needs

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous architecture design role experience, either purely as a unified communications (UC) architect or a solution architect with unified communications experience
  • Lead architect experience on a large-scale unified communications project
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding workload
  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks e.g. TOGAF/Zachman
  • Experience interacting with all functions both business and technical to align the requirements of a project to system and technical requirements
  • Professional Unified Communications certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, EMCCA, AWS-CSA or TOGAF desirable

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

What we offer:

  • Competitive annual salary dependent on experience
  • Annual company & performance-based bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Life Assurance (up to 10 x annual salary)
  • 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave
