We are looking for an Underwriting Manager (m/f) Financial Institutions, Regional Unit London, based in London.

The Impact You Will Have At Allianz Commercial, we combine specialist expertise and global reach with high levels of AA rated underwriting capacity to industry specific exposures. This allows us to establish a reputation as leaders of some of the largest and most complex Financial Institutions risks in the market. Reporting directly to the Regional Head of Financial Institutions, Regional Unit London, you will deliver clear underwriting strategies for the Regional Unit London teams. You will have ownership of selected key/large accounts. You will also share your expertise and train staff.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

1. Assist and develop targeting strategy for new opportunities in Financial Institutions.
2. Train, develop and coach less experienced employees.
3. Underwrite large new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets.
4. Negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions with brokers. Proactively manage capacity.
5. Underwrite in line with Financial Institutions governance framework - e.g. Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles.
6. Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary).
7. Positively represent Allianz Commercial externally to the market and encourage more junior team members to raise their own profile and that of the team.

What You'll Bring to the Role

1. You have at least 5 years' experience underwriting profitable business in the Financial Institutions segment of large corporate international insurance.
2. Ideally, you are CII qualified or equivalent or working towards it.
3. You have recognised relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and are well established within your reference market.
4. You have a specialised understanding of regional/national Financial Institutions insurance markets and the competitor landscape.
5. You are able to negotiate effectively achieving the best outcome for your portfolio while maintaining positive business relationships with your clients and brokers.
6. You are capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective.
7. You have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework.
8. You can design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts.
9. You are able to integrate AI-driven insights into your work to optimize outcomes and support broader organizational goals.
10. You are able to work in a complex matrix and international organization.
