Job description

Work alongside the Divisional Head and Portfolio Underwriters across a range of classes & products in the Specialty Portfolio.

• Location: London
• Type: Permanent

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Be responsible for the adherence to the agreed business plan and ultimately, underwriting performance with primary responsibility for all Energy lines at the Company.
• Work with the Portfolio Management team to define and optimise annual plan strategy, reflective of market conditions. Alongside the Portfolio Underwriter, set underwriting appetite and take steps to ensure the Company’s portfolio is in line with said appetite to maintain a profitable portfolio.
• Liaise with the Account Management team and assist in strategic conversations with Broker partners when required to communicate underwriting appetite and rationale. Alongside the Distribution team, define, develop, and deliver the underwriting strategy and its translation into a deliverable Distribution strategy.
• Experience of working in the London and Lloyd’s insurance markets.
• Knowledge and experience across more than one class of business and a commercial understanding of underwriting.
• Track record of class level portfolio management, leading a team to build a profitable portfolio of business.
