Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting for the position of Underground Light Vehicle Mechanic (Toyotas) to join our operations team.

Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines, located near the town of Matachewan, centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay, and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing a full range of maintenance, repair, and service activities on Toyota Landcruisers and light duty mining equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Check light vehicles for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
2. Component removal, installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair.
3. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
4. Must have an excellent understanding of power trains and electrical schematics.
5. Perform primary maintenance (PM) services on light duty mining equipment.
6. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools.
7. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
8. Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on man carriers.
9. Perform repair work on light duty trucks, man carriers, and light duty mining equipment.
10. Open work-orders, find parts, and complete parts list in work-orders using all available resources.
11. Other duties assigned by the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

1. Ability to diagnose, repair, maintain, and overhaul diesel Toyota equipment.
2. Minimum of 5 years mechanical experience is desired; automotive trade certification would be considered an asset.
3. Preferred candidate will have Ontario or inter-provincial trade qualification.
4. Accredited in U/G common core modules.
5. Accreditation in specialty modules would be an asset.
6. Strong safety focus.
7. Self-motivated ability to work alone.

Schedule: 5/5/4 rotating schedule, 10 hour shifts
