Job description

On behalf of our client, a distinguished independent financial advisory and asset management firm, we are seeking a UK Tax Accountant to join their team. This role presents the chance to engage in a global network of relationships with influential figures in corporations, governments, and investing institutions. The successful candidate will contribute to daily Tax Compliance and Tax Consulting for all UK entities as well as some offshore operations.


What you'll do:

As a UK Tax Accountant, your role will be instrumental in supporting the company's financial operations across the UK, Ireland, and United Arab Emirates. You will be involved in various aspects of tax compliance, including corporation tax, VAT management, payroll-related duties, and tax accounting. Your responsibilities will extend beyond routine tasks; you'll also assist in drafting tax policies and procedures when required. Your ability to prioritise tasks, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high standards of professional conduct will be crucial to your success.

  • Contribute to preparing annual corporation tax computation for all entities and preparing quarterly tax instalments for QIP payments to HMRC.
  • Oversee preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Calculate Annual Adjustment and annual partial exemption percentages.
  • Prepare payment requests to ensure VAT liabilities are settled on time.
  • Supervise all VAT accounting.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of the annual Form 42 for share-based remuneration.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the tax figures in both annual accounts and annual and quarterly New York Lazard Group returns.
  • Assist in drafting tax policies and procedures from time to time.
  • Provide general support where necessary, which may include conducting research or providing responses to tax consulting queries as needed by the business.
What you bring:

As a UK Tax Accountant, you bring a strong academic background coupled with experience in relevant fields. Your qualifications as a recently chartered accountant specialising in tax set you apart. You have an excellent understanding of basic accounting concepts and are highly numerate. Your analytical, problem-solving, and commercial skills are top-notch, and you're comfortable using Microsoft Excel. You're articulate, confident, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Your organisational skills allow you to prioritise tasks effectively, meet tight deadlines, and work under pressure. You pay high attention to quality, detail, accuracy, and precision in your work.

  • Strong academic background, including relevant degree.

  • Recently qualified chartered accountant specialising in tax.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts.

  • PC literate with excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
