UK Sales Manager / Sales Manager / Sales Operations Manager required to join a leading global mechanical engineering manufacturer.
The UK Sales Manager / Sales Manager / Sales Operations Manager will lead a team of Regional Sales Managers and work alongside the Sales Director to increase sales for mechanical handling products and solutions by developing strategic sales plans and managing relationships with existing key accounts. Portfolio includes a range of products and systems such as conveyors, chains, sprockets, valves, and lubrication.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing a sales team within technical mechanical engineering environments such as conveyors, valves, bearings, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, mechanical seals, fluid power products, power transmission products, or similar, ideally with an industry related to manufacturing, food, biomass, power generation, construction, or similar.

Role Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Regional Sales Managers and work alongside the Sales Director to increase sales for mechanical handling products and services.
- Develop strategic sales plans for products such as conveyor systems, chains, sprockets, valves, lubrication, and more.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major customers from within the food manufacturing industry, biomass, plant industry, and others, focusing on long-term partnerships.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze industry trends, and manage the UK territory, including regular reporting on progress and forecasts.
- Work closely with the Service and Engineering departments to ensure excellent after-sales service.
- Liaise with various Engineering departments.
- Office based near Leeds with regular travel to customer sites across the UK.
Requirements
- Proven track record of successfully managing a sales team within technical mechanical engineering environments such as conveyors, valves, bearings, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, mechanical seals, fluid power products, power transmission products, or similar.
- Experience as a Sales Manager, UK Sales Manager, Sales Leader, Sales Operations Manager, General Manager, Engineering Manager, Internal Sales Manager, Inside Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, or similar within technical mechanical engineering.
- Experience of selling into industries such as food manufacturing, biomass, power generation is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire a team toward hitting sales targets.
- A technical engineering qualification - ONC, HNC, HND, or Degree in mechanical engineering or similar is advantageous, though not a must.
- Willing to commute to the office near Leeds with regular travel to customer sites across the UK.
