Marks Sattin is exclusively partnering with a global wholesale distribution organisation in the East Midlands region to recruit a commercially minded UK Head of Finance. The role will be a hybrid working role, which can allow for 3-4 days remote working per week. This is a newly defined position which will lead the UK business and business partner with the wider Senior Leadership team, providing sound commercial and financial strategy to the UK Managing Director.

As the business is a product-led organisation that distributes a high volume of goods, the Head of Finance will be experienced working in a fast-paced B2B organisation.

The purpose of this Head of Finance position is to proactively partner with the UK Managing Director through the development and delivery of the strategic plan to meet the group's targets regarding growth, profitability and cashflow. The Head of Finance will have overall responsibility for the finance function, strategic planning - including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, risk and governance.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance will include:

1. Managing and developing the UK finance team. Promoting a "best practice" culture.
2. Additionally, taking the role as Company Secretary.
3. Translating the company's strategy into KPIs, financial targets, and actions to fulfill business needs regarding sales, profitability, and cashflow.
4. Providing competitor and trend analysis to identify opportunities, risks and best practices.
5. Being an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, generating commercial insights and recommendations that will ultimately drive financial and business performance.
6. Ensuring robust internal controls are in place, ensuring company policies and procedures are being adhered to.
7. Managing cashflow development according to the strategic plan and budget.
8. Continuously improving the finance function and ensuring the requirements of the Group are met.
9. Promoting a "Customer first" focus across the team and wider business.
10. Supporting the UK Managing Director in financial planning and analysis duties to develop the business strategy for expected profitable growth.
11. Maintaining close interactions with other Regional Heads of Finance throughout the group.
12. Supporting projects and activities as needed, including participation in group activities and projects.
13. Acting as Finance Lead on a new ERP system implementation.
14. Integration of acquired companies into the Group.

To be considered, you will:

1. Be a Qualified Accountant - ACA / ACCA / CIMA.
2. Have experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or Finance Director.
3. Have team management and development experience.
4. Be a commercially minded finance leader, with the ability to identify opportunities and risks that may impact financial and business performance.
5. Have experience working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
6. A self-starting and motivated individual who is keen to make a difference.
7. Be an excellent communicator at all levels, with the ability to negotiate, influence and be decisive.
8. Be local to the East Midlands area.
9. Be passionate about driving the business to even greater heights.
